Villa in the vast Brazilian
• The villa is in the vast Brazilian
The villa of 400 square meters, designed by the studio BLOCO Arquitetos, located in the countryside, at a distance of 40 kilometers from the center of the capital of Brazil. The surrounding plains of the house is typical of this region of the country.
The house is divided into two perpendicular pavilions installed on the platforms of different heights. Both wings of the building slightly raised above ground level for two reasons: to reduce the impact on the existing topography, as well as to protect the internal spaces from small animals and insects. The pool is located on the third platform, installed just below.
The first pavilion is a living room, porch, garage and other facilities. In the second, which is closer to the swimming pool, bedrooms are located. Both are connected by two open passageways raised. The idea of the architects was to maximize during daily home use in direct contact with the local natural conditions, such as wind, smells and sounds.
All construction materials were selected based on two principles: they must be nice to grow old in natural weather conditions, without the need for constant care, and they do not hide their "natural" character under layers of plaster and paint. Therefore, in building construction and the built-in furniture such as dining table, benches, wood-burning fireplace and shelves, used raw concrete. Domestic floors are made of polished concrete. External floors - from the purified natural stone sand. The walls are made in one layer of twelve centimeter bricks without use of structural columns. All bathrooms are inside the open-air gardens, which provide natural light and ventilation.
The two-storey concrete structure covered with masonry, the function of the water tower, where the heating equipment is contained in the lower level.
Landscaping strives to recreate the original character of the Brazilian savannah.
