One of the most interesting places in Yakutsk - Permafrost Museum, which opened in the old tunnel near the town. This tunnel was drilled in 1989 and the idea it was intended for food storage. Later it was closed as superfluous, and in 2008 the production has become one of the local travel agencies.

Now is a unique cave, where a year-round temperature is maintained in the region of minus 5-10 degrees. The walls of the museum are covered with frost, and the whole earth is permeated with icy veins. The area is divided into several different rooms and spaces in each of which are ice sculptures. For children there is the residence of Santa Claus, and for adults - a bar where vodka served in ice glasses.

Besides permafrost museum we visited the exhibition "Treasury of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)." Here you can see the largest diamond the size of a quail's egg. The exhibition is part of the State Fund of Precious Metals and Precious Stones of the Republic and, in my opinion, should be protected better than the American Fort Knox ...
