
What was America in the late 1930's - early 1940's
American photographer Charles Cushman (Charles W. Cushman) for 40 years, traveled to North America, photographing local landscapes and scenes of everyday life of the American people.
In 1972, he died, and his legacy - a collection of 14,500 color slides of Kodachrome - was handed over to the photographer's alma mater, Indiana University, where it is kept to this day.
