ICE MC (now the name of Ian Campbell, born March 22, 1965, Nottingham, England.) - rapper, musician and artist.
Yang was born and raised in the area of Hyson Green in Nottingham in a family of immigrants from Jamaica. In school, because of the initials IC, he received the nickname ICE (later he interpreted it as Ian Campbell Esquire - Ian Campbell Esquire).
In 1983 he joined the breakdancer group traveling through Europe. In 1989 in Italy he met Roberto Zanetti - composer and singer, better known by his stage name Savage. Zanetti while engaged in producing activities under the pseudonym Robyx and sought suitable rapper for a new project.
Their first joint single "Easy", in the style of hip house, was released in 1989 and immediately hit the charts all the European charts, finishing fifth in Italy, and in Germany - the third place. Two subsequent singles "Cinema" and "Scream", as well as the album "Cinema", released in 1990, also became popular in Europe and Japan. Ian toured a lot, but the fashion for hip house passed quickly, the scene came new styles - techno and evrohaus, resulting in the album "My World", was released in 1992, was much less successful.
To record their third album Zanetti invited as the vocalist Italian singer Alexia, and ICE MC has completely changed its appearance and style: now it was the ragga-rap or raggamuffin. The album was designed in classic-style Eurodance and quickly got on top place in the hit parades around the world. The best-known hits, included in the album, It's A Rainy Day, Take Away The Colour, Russian Roulette and Think About The Way; the latter also served as one of the soundtracks for the 1996 film Trainspotting.
In 1995 he released an album of remixes "Ice'n'Green - The Remix Album", lead single from which a new version of "Take Away The Colour '95 Reconstruction".
In 1996, the differences between the ICE MC Zanetti and lead to rupture. Yang went to Germany, where he became popular not released album "Dreadatour" in 1996.
